You hold the phone and your script scrolls on screen. Not at a fixed speed: it moves as you speak, waits when you stop, and catches up if you skip a line. You are not chasing the text, so nobody can tell you are reading.
We have not named it yet. Better an empty name than one we invent now and change later.
How it works
A classic prompter scrolls at a fixed speed and you race to keep up. Here it is the other way round. Speech recognition finds the word you just said and moves the line to match. Pause, and the text pauses with you.
The script lives on your screen only. What goes into the recording is the camera image with nothing layered on top. There is no cleanup pass afterwards.
The reading line sits high on the screen, close to the camera. You are not looking down, so eye contact holds. There is a countdown too, so you do not lose the first second.
You do not keep your scripts somewhere else and paste them in. You write, edit and order them in the app, so on shooting day everything runs from one place.
Status
We do not use a roadmap as a shop window. The left column below is what runs today. The right column is what we are working on. We are not putting a date on anything in that right column.
We use it for our own shoots right now. It is not in the store.
This page changes when the app ships: a download link appears, the left column grows, the right column shrinks. The one thing that will not change is that nothing in the right column gets described as if it already worked.
